Once upon a time there was a block of flats from the 80-ties. Inside - worn out, sombre apartment. It was hight time to give it new life and the owners trusted me in doing so. We set of on an exciting journey. The main part of this refurbishement was putting new kitchen in current livingroom and replacing the old space with walk-in closet. This change brought vibrancy, creating more homely, inclusive space. Corridor gained new shelving for impressive book collection. Bedroom got new design too - more comfortable, exciting and with large desks for working.
To be more ecological, we tried to keep as many old elements as possible. Dark wooden floors weren't replaced, but got new lick of bright paint instead. Sofas have been upholstered in beautiful shade of saphire.
Maple wood was introduced in all new furniture - wood that is light in colour, has good qualities and is sourced locally. Hand made mosaic was used in kitchen from local ceramic factory.
There are turquoises and hints of blue in this project - to give it a punch in otherwise subtle space. Oh! And let's not forget about this spectacular 'under the bell' Muuto lamp!
The overall feel in the apartment is fresh, modern and light.
